About Cumbrian Dentists
Cumbrian Dentists is the verified register of dental access in Cumbria: who's taking NHS patients, what treatment costs, and the urgent route for every corner of the county — with a date on every claim.
Who publishes this
The site is built and run by Cascade UK, a Cumbrian web studio. It is an independent information service: we are not dentists, we are not the NHS, and no practice pays to appear in the register. Contact: hello@cumbriandentists.co.uk.
How statuses are checked
Every practice entry starts from nhs.uk's public find-a-dentist listings, shown with an explicit attribution and the date we checked. Our verification sweep then rings practices and asks the question a patient would ask — "are you taking on new NHS patients at the moment?" — and a spoken-to answer replaces the seeded status with a mono Checked date. Statuses older than 120 days automatically downgrade to "Last known"; the site is built so a stale positive cannot be displayed.
What we will never do
- Publish reviews, ratings or rankings of practices — we hold no review data.
- Give medical advice. We signpost NHS and public sources, nothing more.
- Promise appointments. We report access; practices decide who they see.
- Show an availability claim without the date it was checked.
Practices: corrections and removals
If your practice is listed and anything is wrong — status, phone, address, services — or you want your listing removed, email hello@cumbriandentists.co.uk and we'll act on it promptly. Every practice page carries this same route.

Private price ranges come only from practices' own published fee lists, each cited where it appears.
